This week, Leia has taken a break from putting together outfits and handed the reins over to me! I am not quite the least fashionable lady at IHOGeek (Leia proudly holds that title) but I am damn sure the runner up since I can kinda sorta match things. Since the last few have been going the DC route, I decided that since I am taking over this week, I will show you what us Marvel girls can do. As always, I plan on slowly buying these items and wearing them in the real, but if you have something similar, I challenge you to show me! And to take it one step further, I will explain why I chose the pieces I did for my outfits. So, ready to jump right in? Let’s take a look at the lovely Miss Kitty Pryde first!
- Top – v-neck boyfriend tee
Target.com – 8.00
- Bottoms – Artist Crops
American Eagle, 29.99
- Shoes – Hemp Vulc
- Earrings – WLFCA Feathers
- Headwrap – Multi-color Retro
- Backpack – American Rag Kayla
You gotta be casual when wrangling in those unruly mutant students at the X-Mansion. A Headmistress certainly has no need for, say, white corsets and thigh high boots. It’s just not practical. Here, Kitty can not only phase from classroom to classroom, but also blend in with the younger generation of new mutants. She’s just a kid at heart, after all.
- Dress – Lace Side Surplice Dress
Charlotte Russe, 26.99
- Shoes – Chinese Laundry Hold
- Bracelet – Vibrant Blue Bracelet
- Earrings – Antique Oriental Silver Fans
- Bag – BCBGeneration “Violet” Clutch
Shadowcat has always been a classy lady. The dress material seems like it would be good for a quick phase on the go and the oriental fan earrings remind her fondly of a time in the land of the rising sun. Shoes are a subtle pun on her name, which I think Kitty would enjoy, the bracelet throws in a youthful splash of color, and the clutch in one arm would be similar to the mutant on the other. Perfect ingredients for a fun night out!
- Top – Beaded Flutter Top
Charlotte Russe, 22.99
- Bottom – Denim Miniskirt
American Eagle, 36.50
- Shoes – Born Women’s Gold Lote Wedges
Infinity Shoes, 49.95
- Belt – Fossil Logo Skinny Belt in Gold
- Purse – Converse One Star Satchel in Gray
- Necklace – Silver Phoenix Single Pearl
etsy.com, 21.00A good girl in most situations, our dreamy Jeannie can’t resist being a bit of a playful tease, hence the denim mini. Green has always been a traditional color staple of our lovable Redd’s, with the gold wedges and belt reflecting nicely on the original Phoenix costume. Top it off with a simple bird necklace and a GREY bag (wink wink) and you’ve got the Boy Scouts on the run!Dressy Dark Phoenix
- Dress – Cowl Neck Dress
Papaya Clothing, 16.20
- Shoes – Sacred Heart Xenon Ankle Booties
- Belt – X Marks The Spot
Forever 21, 4.99
- Bracelet – Hand Etched Phoenix Organic Horn Cuff
- Purse – Black Pleated Clutch
The darker side of our favorite fiery entity would tend to lean toward the sexier side of the emotional spectrum, and would probably dress to match. The red mini dress is reminiscent of both Dark Phoenix and the Black Queen, though I’m ditching that scrawny belt in place of a thicker corset belt, which just so happen to be marked with X’s! Chained booties and an organic wrist cuff give this being a little more oomph to her already Omega level!
How do girly magazine writers come up with this stuff every day? I can’t imagine! If this is your first time stumbling across a post like this, I highly suggest you check out the DC oriented outfits made by Leia (ladyvader99), Batman & Aquaman, Robin & Iron Man, and Poison Ivy & Harley Quinn! And not that it is a contest, cough cough, but which ones do you like the most? Or maybe have a hero request? Leave all your thoughts in the comments below!
