The official trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II dropped today, and all Panem rejoices.
Though Katniss mentioned in the teaser that she was tired of speeches, the official trailer doesn’t treat us to anything new in the way of dialogue. Katniss yet again delivers the same monologue intending that residents turn their focus and weapons on the Capitol, with the only additional bit of dialogue from Finnick, as he ironically states President Snow’s opening line of the Hunger Games.
The Mockingjay official trailer offers a few additional glimpses of
Queen Margaery and Brienne of Tarth, Natalie Dormer and Gwendolyn Christie, as two major franchises collide, Tigris, and the muttations, however there are shockingly few moments of Peeta.
The biggest relief the official trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II offers is in the depiction of the mutts this time around. The special effects have upped the ante and are highly superior to the ones we were subjected to in The Hunger Games, most likely due to the overall success of the franchise. The “arena” Katniss and her District 13 comrades navigate leading up to President Snow feel more realistic than the found-footage style from the first movie.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II hits theatres November 20th, 2015, so be sure to check back here for our full synopsis! Who wants to join me in a reread til then?
