I liked Pacific Rim. It promised me giant robot vs. giant monster fights and that is what I got. Could it have been more than that? Sure. But it wasn’t.

Borrowing the idea of nuero-linking and “angels” attacking for mysterious reasons Pacific Rim stops there. It doesn’t ever get very dark and the character development pales in comparison to Evangelion.
