Has gaming taken over your life? Have the hours of console, PC or tabletop overuse left you feeling isolated from normal humans? Do you ignore daily obligations to spend your leisure lethargically leveling? DO YOU?! Well, don’t fret! No matter what type of addiction you have, the folks at Geeks And Gamers Anonymous are here to help!
Ready to delve into the minds of the fairer nerds? A new series is on the way to your Interwebs to help you do just that! Out of the brain of MTV Geek writer and G4’s Woman of the Web 2010 Katrina Hill (who prefers to be known by her intergalactic smuggler alias Action Flick Chick) comes the shenanigan-filled adventure of three girls addicted to gaming, who seek out professional help to cure them of their obsession by joining a support group called Geeks And Gamers Anonymous.
G.A.G.A. follows main character Raine and her lovable cohorts Leeloo and Eevee as time after time they somehow manage to throw themselves directly into random mischievous, hanky-panky situations, and watching how their polar opposite personalities react to each other and an environment that seems unable to process their existence.
Rather than hire pretty-face actresses to bring these complex gamers to life, Katrina opted for a different path. Leading lady Raine will be played by none other than the head hancho writer and awesomesauce herself, with no-nonsense Leeloo being fleshed out by busygamer.com contributer/Gamette of Feb 2010 and XFX Girl 2.0 Rika Stead. Rounding out the casting is iHOG’s own killerrqueen, Kimmie Britt, playing Dungeons & Dragons obsessed Eevee.
“Ultimately, my goal with G.A.G.A. is to make people laugh, entertain them, and maybe bring up some issues that girl gamers have to deal with.” Katrina said, when explaining her project.
Two of the planned 7 episode season have completed filming, with an upcoming trailer in the works to be released in the next few months.
Will this new support group help our trio tame the behemoth or just feed their obsession? You could head over to teaser geekanon.com where you’ll find no further information, or instead keep checking back at iHOGeek for the latest and greatest updates as they come!
